Romantic, Relaxed and a laid back vibe….

When I first met Sammy on a cold dark evening the late summer wedding seemed so far away. Sammy and Ryan had grand plans of making their wedding relaxed, romantic and very much about them….. nothing fussy and nothing stuffy.

When Sammy mentioned that they were due to marry in family friends barn on the outskirts of Leek I took it with a pinch of salt, it wasn’t until she mentions the small fact that the barn was currently been used to keep horse-drawn carriages in that I realised just the task in hand.

Fast forward 7 months and the hard work began.

THEME

Sammy wanted to create a soft dreamy feel to the day which would tie in with the laid-back feel in the barn, with lots of delicate smelling foliage’s and flowers to keep the day light and fresh. The bridesmaids wore dusky lilac dress’s and Ryan a Tweed suit. Sammy’s dress was white with a heavily detailed bodice which oozed glamour, and a beautiful floral headpiece designed be Tangle Frost.

FLOWERS

The brief was to create a dreamy feel using lots of mixed foliages and a small selection of flowers. Sammy and I worked together to gather ideas of styles that would best suit her dress and of course what flowers she liked. We came together with a plan to design a loose, natural bouquet with plenty of movement and scent. Sammy’s bouquet was made using the most beautiful flowering mint, silvery eucalyptus and woody rosemary, along with in my opinion the star of the show the gorgeous Lullaby Rose. The Lullaby is a soft lilac coloured rose with an elegant cupped bud that opens into a full bloom featuring lots of lush petals. Accompanying these where Silver Mikado spray rose, veronica and to add even more texture thistle. It was finished with a soft trailing ribbon that caught the breeze wonderfully.

The bridesmaids carried loose bouquets of soft delicate Gypsophila which again gave lots of movement to the posy’s and were finished with the same ribbon as Sammy’s. And the boys had very simple buttonholes made up of eucalyptus, olive and rosemary and finished in brown twine.
